The rower itself is a pretty good value compared to the more expensive ones. The saddle glides on the rail smoothly. I haven't had it long enough to judge its durability, so we'll have to see.

Since receiving my rower a week ago I have used it for approximately 15 minutes per day and I can see & feel results already. This is a great machine. Always before, I have used a treadmill and hand weights to firm up. This saves so much time because it works both upper and lower at the same time. The resistance levels that you can set for your upper body add so much to the workout. When my husband set it up, he set the resistance very high. (Macho thing, you know!) He lasted less than two minutes. I set the resistance to 2 for the beginning workouts, and it is a perfect workout. I have had three rotator cuff repairs and it's hard to find workouts that I can do. I spend 30 minutes on it and try for every other day.

The machine is well built, and sturdy. Arm movements work together nicely with seat sliding. I love that if really feels like you are rowing on water, as opposed to pulling a cord that is only in front of you like the old rowing machines. There are enough resistance choices to last for a long time. No need to jump right back up and buy another machine.

I think that this is good for beginner or previous user.

I purchased the machine with three points in mind:1. I wanted to stay active while watching my favorite movies and television programs.2. Given my small apartment it had to leave a very small footprint.3. Price The one caveat I have concerning the delivery, if I had not been so satisfied with my earlier purchases( I purchased 2 Stamina Intone Bikes- one for my Mother and one for myself) I would have returned The Glider due to a cracked part. I use my rowing machine several times a day and it takes such a small space I keep it set up to grab 10-20 munites often. Have tried gyms and it takes so much time to get there and back and this is the first pleasant excise I have done. It works on more muscle systems than anythig I have tried. I like this product more than I thought that I would. I was able to put it together myself in about an hour. The machine works smoothly, and the seat is a lot more comfortable than it appeared initially. I have been able to sit on it for 45 minutes to an hour at a time without discomfort. I would hesitate to call it flimsy, but one piece broke with my second use of the machine. It does not effect the operation, however. I have not inquired as to whether or not the piece can be replaced, but that may be an option. Overall, it's a good piece of eqipment, and you can't beat the price.

My wife and I (age 65) both use it daily. It has been easy to slowly build up the time per session. It's too early (after two weeks) to tell if it is helping us lose weight or inches, but it sure can't hurt that process. It was simple to put together, and it operates quietly (contrary to the experience described by some other reviewers I read before we bought it). It is a little tricky to get up from it after use, but that may have more to do with our age than with the product.

I've read many of the same complaints about this rower such as the the foot supports are flimsy and your feet slip out because of the velcro straps and poor design, the handles are rubber coated and they tear your hands up, and it's not as good as a gym rower. I say SO WHAT!!! yes the foot supports are flimsy but my feet don't slip out besides the velcro straps are really not needed anyway. As far as the rubber tearing your hands WEAR GLOVES!!!!!! and who pays [$] and expects this rower to be as good as a gym caliber rower that cost thousands of dollars??? So far i have had no problems with this rower at all and my wife and i use it everyday vigorously for an hour each. Oh other complaints i kept reading is this rower is for beginners not experienced athletes and the piston loses resistance and/or leaks fluid. Let me tell you something... this Stamina Body Trac Glider is not for beginners nor is it for experienced athletes it's for ANYBODY that want to lose fat or keep the fat off and just get a pretty good cardio workout. Your major muscle groups get a pretty good workout as well if it's used correctly. I've yet to experience loss of resistance or fluid leaking from the piston and if i eventually do the saying is you get what you pay for right? I've definitely gotten more than my monies worth out of this rower and my wife and i are still using it without any issues. So with all of this said i end my opinion with... if you are not into the gym scene but want to get in a little low impact exercising in the privacy of your home and not exercise your pockets trying to purchase a top noch rower to do so then THIS IS A GREAT BUY!!!!! ; )

I've never liked working out, but this product makes it easy and convenient. I've had it almost two weeks and look forward to working out now. My only complaint is after four uses the left handle started making a grinding noise. I tried adjusting the tension hoping it would solve the problem, but it didn't help. I noticed metal shavings on the frame from the handles, but honestly not that concerned about it. Going to add WD-40 or oil and see if that helps, but I can live with the slight noise it makes.

It is easy to use. As long as I use shoes on the machine, the foot pedals are not a problem. I usually use this machine for 75 minutes 4-5 times a week. I haven't noticed any improvements in the 3 weeks I have used it so I am still not sure how effective it is in strengthening and toning.

The device is adequate for a good workout but it is not as effective as aa expensive rowing machine you would find in the gym. There was a bit of set up but if you've ever put together anything else of consequence, this is about a 30-45 minute thing about following logical directions.

The first time I tried using it, I was in sock feet and my feet kept slipping out of the foot rests. HOWEVER, using gym shoes and VOILA, no more slipping problem.

This machine feels soooo good to use. I love it that the arms have so much range of motion instead of just back and forth. That feature makes this machine a must-have.

So, instead of sitting on one's behind watching TV, get on the rower and get the body moving. My body was, like, THANK YOU!

And it's not HARD or difficult or too strenuous. The resistance can be dialed up or down. It's the repeating of the motion that gets things going. It's such a pleasant set of motions -- stretch and crunch. I love it.

I got a fantastic salesperson on the phone who was friendly and genuine. I like this machine so much that I am ordering one to send to my husband in Iraq. It's compact enough for a chu, fits under a bed or leans up against a wall out of the way when not in use. Very portable and easy to move.

When arrived, the box was about 6 feet long and 1 foot square. It was easy to carry upstairs and assembly was fairly simple, about 30 minutes. The monitor is easy to read and control. The seat seems small, but it is big enough. The arms do squeek a little, but nothing to complain about. My only complaint so far is, like others, my feet slide down off the pedals. I wear my shoes, a women's 10/11, so that is not the issue. The lip at the bottom of the pedal that is intended to support my foot needs to be 2 inches, not 1. I don't know how the velcro straps are going to hold up with me having to constantly undo them to put my feet back on the pedal.Other than that, I enjoy this machine. The price is great and I feel it in my thighs, butt, arms and my back.

Got it together w/ son's help in about an hour although I could've done it myself in about 2 hours. Not hard to assemble. Very sturdy & does everything I hoped it would do. I like the upper training and cardio and my thighs feel it too, yet low impact. My back and stomach get a little also. I can jump on it and row in front of the TV and then move it out of the way and set upright. Not good to move long distances tho as is bulky, but works for me. I love it. I feel good even though I am taking it very slowly so I don't overdo it and quit....again!!! I pretend I'm rowing away from the Titanic or sharks and the kids are highly amused.

I bought this rower knowing that my feet would probably slip off. (I read this in other reviews). There are some solutions I will be trying. With that said, the rower gives a good workout and doesn't take up much space when stored. A good price for a good workout when its hard to get to the gym.

Out of all the row machines I've used over the years, this one by far is the best. It's easy to use and the wide variety of motion on the arms is great. Very quite when I watch tv, stores away in a small compact closet. The only cons about it is the straps on the pedals, needs another strap at the bottom to hold your feet from falling off. I quit smoking and gained weight so I was looking for an inexpensive space saving full body workout exercise machine. Found it.
Before buying I read other reviews which had issues about the foot pedals, feet slipping off, yea they are right so wear shoes and tighten the straps which works for me. It's a entry level rowing machine IE cheep, but it's built solid and works well for a casual user. I'm quite pleased with it and most importantly I'm actually using it because I like it.

I bought the Stamina Body Trac Glider knowing full well what the #1 negative review was. The foot pedals and feet sliding out of them due to their poor design. That is the only negative I have. My fix for this was simple. I took them off. It's a much better machine without them. I took them off, ran down to my local home improvement store and bought a two foot length of 1/2" PVC pipe which I cut to fit over the bar that holds the foot pedals on both sides. It took me about 10 minutes to do. Now when I'm rowing I just put my feet under the bar. I will add images with another review.

I use it everyday about 15 to 30 minutes. It is a great workout. I love the adjustable resistance just in case you are feeling a bit tougher that day. I feel like the unit that tracks the amount of calories burned might underestimate a bit but that and the smell of the grips on my hands is the only almost negative thing I can say. I am disabled. I am paralyzed below my knees. I can stabilize my feet and push with my upper legs, and strengthen my upper body and my torso, abs, etc.. So easy to put together! I used to be very athletic, but due to circumstances my schedule has prohibited a regular routine of any kind. I'm excited to use this as I have bad knees and it is hard to find activity that I am able to do without knee strain. I've only been on it a couple of times since I just got it. I bought my first Body Track a couple years ago. I used it approximately 10-15 minutes a day and about 5-6 days a week. I dropped a couple of sizes without really trying. I have never been into exercise, but this machine makes all over toning easy in a small amount of time. Great Aerobic workout too.

I will say the first one I bought did break after the warranty ran out. I bought a more expensive rower from another company. It was so difficult to use and did not provide much other than a good arm workout, that I ended up selling that rower and RE-buying this model. Upon starting up with this one again after 4 months without it, I realized that I was not getting the core workout with the more expensive model that this rower gives. I am having to start slower on this one to build back up.

I AM SO GLAD to have another Body Track. I'm hoping this one will last longer, but for the price if I have to purchase another one in a little over a year, then it's cheaper and better than a gym membership.

Very convenient to use. Light weight compared to the other model I had. Better ab/core workout and aerobic workout. Folds up to a small footprint and easily stores in a closet.

I would say that unless you are a body builder, stay away from the dual piston models and stick with this model.

I love it.

A super product that is well built to last a long time. I can actually hear the tv now while working out! I like the fact that both my upper and lower body gets worked on.

This rowing machine was better built than what I'd expected. The parts are of good grade & strength and the steel is very thick with good welds. I like to use this because it breaks up running all the time. I like to sit in front of my TV, pop in a DVD, and row, row, row. It's quiet too, so I can hear the TV, to where my treadmill is very loud and can't be used with the TV.

So far so good. Easy setup. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Folds up nicely for storage. Even though it's easy to use, feels like I'm getting a decent workout. Now it's just a matter of seeing how durable the machine is. Rarely encounter the problems others have mentioned about feet coming out of the pedals. As long as I make sure my feet are properly positioned and firmly strapped in, no problem.

This is an easy to use machine, just sit down, row your arms back as you slide back with feet in the holder.
Pros: I like its simplicity in use and that it works well and effectively. I can feel my arms, legs, core, and cardiovascular system at work! I'm sure that it will be helpful in the long run for good health.
Cons: I don't really like that it takes up more space than I thought. However, it is a minor inconvenience that uses up only a little more space than intended.

The product is pretty sturdy, the only complaint is the foot strap that a bit too big for me, so it's a bit difficult to keep them in place.

It's a pretty good machine, especially when you consider the price. One problem that I have noticed is when you start doing alot of reps in a single exercise. 1-500ish reps and the thing is great, but start getting up higher and the piston starts to get really hot and then, all of a sudden, there absolutely no resistance. It makes achieving a good, sweaty workout hard to accomplish.

I'm 55 and have done a lot of physical work outdoors most of my life up until a few years ago. I have much easier work now and wanted a piece of equipment that was low impact yet gave me enough of a workout to stay toned and keep the cardio-vascular system in shape. I break up my workout with a few reps of push-ups and feel great. This little rower is exactly what I hoped it would be. Simple to assemble and well made. I have had no problem with the foot pedals as some have stated although I elevate the rear platform to give me more workout on my legs. That is the only thing I find lacking - the ability to adjust the height of the rear pedestal. I recommend this machine to anyone although I have not used any of the more expensive models that are available.

Unit was easy to assemble and takes up very little space. I have not experienced my feet coming off the pedals as described by some users. The rowing motion is great, I get a good crosstraining workout to complement my running. Very happy with machine. Very good quality at the price. I used to row on a team in high school and early in college - that was 25+ years ago. I always loved rowing, it is a total body workout. All muscle groups get worked, regardless of people saying only the upper body. In fact, it is the legs which push you away and then pull you forward which do the most work, the arm movements just finish out what the legs are really doing. I am *really happy* with this very cost effective rowing machine. i would recommend it to anyone.

The only question I have is that while I am doing a vigorous workout for 30 minutes, the calorie counter usually only gets up to about 90. However, on all the on-line calorie calculators, it shows vigorous rowing to burn about 400+ calories. I found that if the seat moves up and back 7 times, it counts as a calorie. How can this be? i would think that the resistance + repetition would burn calories than no resistance and only repetition. Either way, i feel more limber and my muscles are getting definition again.

I'm a female MS Patient and was looking for the best and safest way to exercise.

Pros: Machines that run on electricity like treadmills are too dangerous and Elliptical machines are a fall risk for me. With my new rower I am a safe distance from the ground (no fear of falling), when I stop the rowing machine stops (safety) and it is easy for to use (physically). On good days I adjust the tension up for a harder work out on bad days I make it easier, still getting a work out. I feel great after the work out either way :) I think this a great machine for any person who enjoys rowing!!

Cons: The pedals... My feet keep falling off. The Velcro does very little to secure your feet and the back lip; designed to keep your foot on the pedal, does very little. I am going to get more Velcro to see if I add more in a different area, if it will help.

First, I must say that I love this little rowing machine. I've always been a consistent exerciser until the last few years when I started having trouble with my knees. When I found out I had little cartilage in my knees I knew I needed something that would be kind to my knees, yet give me a good cardio and strength workout. So, I bought this as a low impact and core targeting machine. I read other reviews and thought the inconveniences that other users had could be overcome.
Yes, the machine is awfully low to the ground, so it is hard for me to get in and out of it with my knee trouble, but once I'm in it I love how it feels. To me, it really feels like I'm rowing out on a lake somewhere. And, I've found that with something to support me close by I manage to get out of it. My kids, however, have no trouble getting in or out of it.
The machine feels really sturdy to me. No parts seem flimsy to me, and I imagine that it will last for many years.
Other reviewers said it was a quiet machine, but I'd have to say that it makes no noise. I make more noise than it does. So, I just turn on a video and I don't bother anyone by rowing.
Personally, I like the feel of the rowing action itself. I've rowed real boats and I'm amazed that the pushing and pulling of the arms, and the movement of the seat feel just as if I was rowing in water.
I like the feel of the pull using all of the muscles in my back, shoulders, arms, and abdomen. It's a much more comprehensive feeling than other rowers that have a single cable where you are limited in your arm movements.
One minor drawback for me is that the tension controller is actually under the seat, so adjusting it while you are using it is impossible, but once it is set where you want it the resistance stays true.
The foot pedals feel awkward to me, but like another reviewer, I just jam my toes up under them and it feels like a more natural position to me. Maybe as I get stronger I'll like using the foot pedals as they were intended. My daughter just places her feet on the floor.
When I'm done with the machine it is easy for me to pick it up and store it upright in the corner of the room. I was surprised how light-weight it was considering how sturdy the whole machine is.
Overall, I'm very happy that I purchased this machine. For what it does, it definitely was worth the money. I can't wait until tomorrow when I pop in a video and row, row, row.

Excellent machine and a superior rower in almost every way, except that it is very difficult to keep your feet from coming out of the foot rests. I had to modify the heel by adding an additional strap from front to back. That said, I am a competition dragon boat paddler and a personal trainer. I use it to train myself and my team, and I use it a great deal with clients. Very good over all workout, easy enough for beginners but challenges athletes. and is an excellent cardio workout for clients who have knee issues.

I like the Body Trac, because at 6' tall, I also needed a rower that would be usable in my small apartment. This rower works well, and stores in a small amount of space. After my first workout using the Body Trac, I could feel the benefits it provides instantly, and I can never wait until the next time I get to use it. Novices should start using less time and resistance, and work your way up. This rower works great!

Wow, this is a great little machine. Its convenient for me to just hop on and row, without having to pack and go to the gym. At first, I had to take many breaks because it was such a good workout. I feel it most in my arms and you can adjust the tension to make it harder or easier. The ONLY thing I found wrong was that my feet kept coming out of the pedals (my feet are small-6.5) so I remedied the situation by slipping my foot through a loop of strong elastic to go around the upper portion of my foot. It works really good. Smooth, affordable, convenient... I am very happy about it.

I was pleasantly astonished at how good this machine is, considering the low price. Storage is also very easy. The assembly instructions were out of date. Instead of having the bolts, etc. loose, they were in the holes they needed to go in. That is a major improvement, but the instructions do not reflect that, so the first few moments of the assembly were a bit tense. After I figured out what was going on, everything went smoothly.

I really don't know much about rowing machines, but I wanted something that worked a lot of different muscules. This definitely does it. There may be better out there, but I really didn't need to spend the money. No wobbling or instability. There is the occasional squeaking, but nothing truly obnoxious. The only thing I might add are some helpful hints on how to get the most out of the machine, maybe some diagrams of what's supposed to be where when for those of us who really don't have a clue.

The machine works well and I like the fact that the arms have the bend in them offering a better rowing motion. However, the arms were welded onto the frame at different angles, so it makes the rowing motion uneven. This issue results in a machine which isn't as fun or comfortable to use for lengthy exercise.
However, if you're just checking out machines to see if you'll use one, then start with something like this. It's a decent machine for the price.

Pedals are not deep enough at the heel. Foot slides off unless you are wearing shoes.

Like most of the reviews on here, I'm very pleased with the Stamina Body Trac Glider and happy I bought it. It's definitely my ideal way of exercising. The only bad thing about is that your feet don't stay in the pedals. But I've found my own way of working the problem out so, I don't mind too much. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I love this product, my whole family uses it!! It is easy enough to get out of the storage position my 4 year old can do it. I'm not a big exerciser, because I have lots of aches but this is extremely low impact I can use it and it doesn't strain my joints!! My only complaint is: when it is in the storage position it rests on the electronics.

This rowing machine functions as it is advertised. Easy to assemble. Smooth enough movement. The only con is that it does not replicate a real rowing machine...but those are VERY expensive. With daily use this "rowing" machine will get you in shape.

I bought this rower than read all the bad review and i am glad i read them after i bought it because if i had read them before i might not have bought it and i would not have been able to see how wrong they are! well on the most part... the machine is great for working out and i do love the work out, it is easy on the knees and back but great at getting your heart going and working your muscles however it does take a second to get use to the pedals. the design on them is a little weird but if you just strap your self in nice and tight you will be fine. i have heard that a lot of people get a lot of noise and what have you but that has now been the case with us and my husband and i are both on the larger side, when you sit you may hear a squeak or two but from then on you should be fine.
all in all this rower is a great buy for the price.

For the price I thought I would give it a try and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the machine and the workout. I have added the rower to 2 other kinds of exercise (walking and light weight training) and it fits in nicely. Since I am a male with a size 10 foot, I have no trouble with my feet slipping out of the foot rests. If I had much smaller feet, slipping out of the foot rests might be a problem; however, I think that resting the feet on the floor or on the front stand of the machine may work out just fine.

I just received my rowing machine and I like it. After reading other reviews I was already prepaired for any of the down falls but all in all it works good for me. Just read some of the other reviews they will give ya the heads up.
One thing I will say is make sure you have a extra pair of shoes ready to mount to the foot pedals, and enjoy. I've only had mine 2 days.

As above , screws for monitor not included. Screws for under support bar did not fit. Instructions confusing because stated screws were in hardware bag but actually were all ready loosely put in appropriate holes . Other wise was quite easy to put together and is very smooth

The only problem I have with this machine is that we had to "gerry-rig" the straps to hold my feet from pulling out while rowing and it's a bit squeaky on the glide. Otherwise, it works for what I bought it for... a low impact exercise that combines aerobics and strength training. I've only had the rower for a week and I'm anxious to see the results.

Overall for the price this is not a bad machine, one complaint is the foot pedals. My feet keep coming out of the foot pedals, however that was an easy fix, all I did was purchase some exercise bands and tie them in so they do not slip out. I gave it 4 stars primarily because it is easy to use and is a great deal for the price.

Predict long use life as resistance initially at low setting,and I am relatively strong in upper body. Really easy to assemble,move, and reset for use. Quiet function allows use during TV viewing, even with others.

I bought the Body Trac Glider when I went to Africa (Mozambique) to work in 2007. It was a real asset since Africa does not have many gyms, and I was living in a small town. It performed magnificently! I sold it for the price that I paid for it, and my African Freinds were very happy to get a good piece of equipment. I used it for rowing and also for bicep curls about 3X per week. It is truly a great machine for the price. I would recommend it to anyone... beginner.... intermediate... advanced fitness freak. I am going back to Mozambique again to work, and I just purchased my second Stamina Pro Trac Glider.

I like it!. It works well for what I need at age 81 with a bad knee & back - - but- - Having rowed many a boat I didn't expect the foot pads to be placed "in the air" I have removed them & use the front stabilizer to support the balls of my feet with my heels on the ground. I would like to be able to adjust the center beam to be closed to the stabilizer. It works for me but it could pose a problem with someone with shorter legs. The meter does not seem to be to accurate but its ok. All in all I am happy with it & would recommend to others.

Cancer has handicapped me, -- especially my feet, so I needed something that would accommodate my situation. The Body Trac Glider is great, and I can hardly believe it was available at such a modest price! [...] and it was well-packaged, and easy to assemble. My only criricism is that the arms touch when brought back evenly, but that ia a minor concern. I'd buy it again and recommend it to others. This will get the job done. Is a great total workout. I do 20 min a day. It was a snap to install. It works with almost no noise. The only thing I would change is the design of the foot straps. Feet will slide from time to time. Would recommend this to everybody.

I like it, it gives you a good workout but I do not like the shoe holder's they are way to big for my small feet. The velcrow straps are not strong enough to hold for a long time.
The other thing is setting the Resistance you don't know when to Quit turning it.
